Fr. Joseph Donovan, M.M. a Maryknoll Missionary priest will visit our parish on November 23-24 to speak at all the Masses and give our parishioners an opportunity to spread Christ's message to the unchurched and the poor overseas. Father Joseph Donovan, a native New Yorker, was ordained at Maryknoll NY in 1979. Though his first experiences in the Maryknoll missions were'in Guatemala in 1973 and '74, he began a 32-year association with the missions in Lima, Peru in 1975, where he accompanied the indigenous of the Andes mountains in their relocation to the capital city and the creation of their faith communities in newly established settlements, which eventually bloomed into large, sprawling parishes. He remains in contact with many of his friends there, who themselves continue as missionary witnesses to Christ in their own neighborhoods. He welcomes the opportunity to share his experiences with you during his visit.
While at the parish, Father Donovan will be happy to talk with any parishioners who are interested in doing overseas mission work as a Maryknoll Priest, Brother or lay Missionary. Please visit www.maryknollsociety.org to learn more.
