Christian Initiation of Children: Ages 7 through 12

Who is it for?

Children (ages 7- 12 years old) who are unbaptized

or Children (ages 7-12) who were baptized into another Christian faith

How does the program work?
-
This is a 2 year process with sessions to coincide with the school year (September - May)
-
Your child needs to be enrolled with the Religious Education Program or the Catholic School at St. Euphrasia

Your child will receive instruction in the faith in weekly Religious Education classes or religion classes in St. Euphrasia Catholic School

In addition, your child and family (at least one parent and/or Godparent) will attend Monthly sessions on the Second Saturday of the month from 2:00-3:30 pm

Your child should attend Children's Liturgy of the Word at the 10:30 am Mass on Sundays

Your child will be fully initiated into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil of the second school year (depending on individual readiness) receiving all 3 Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist

Your child and family and will continue to attend sessions (called Mystagogy) until the completion of the school year
If your child is already baptized, please visit the Religious Education page to enroll them in Religious Education classes to prepare for the Sacraments of Penance and Eucharist. -
