The 23 banners you see in church today, October 29, represent a small number of the multitude belonging to the communion of saints. These banners were introduced at the Archdiocesan Presbyteral Day attended by nearly 500 priests. They will now make their way throughout our Archdiocese, spending time in each parish. Their presence reminds us that as Catholic Christians we proclaim the beauty of God’s Creation: a human race rich in diversity of color and language and physical features and ethnic cultures. Knowing that Jesus prayed to his Father “…that all may be one,” we believe we are involved in building a unified kingdom of God in our midst by embracing all God’s people as our own brothers and sisters. The banners will remain here at St. Euphrasia through November 6 so that you may have an opportunity to view them at your convenience.
